- Chosen by Voters oxycodone is stronger than hydrocodone. I have been in pain management for some time now and have started from the non narcotics to hydrocodone to oxycodone. The usual tramadal/ultram to vicodin to percocet to oxycodone now at 30mg. They oxycodone is stronger works better for me, some like the hydrocodone because it usually comes with tylenol but I like the choice to take tylenol with the medication so I don't overdue the tylenol. Hydrocodone won't even touch my pain anymore, oxycodone will relieve my pain. When I was taking a lower doses like 5mg hydrocodone vs 5mg percocet the percocet worked better for me and you could definitely tell the strength was higher. Where I'm at now though it's a hard road to get off of them so the lower you can stay the better you are because it is nearly impossible to just quit from what I'm taking now and eventually you just go up unless you figure out another way to deal with the pain.
